EAT & DRINK AT Tiki TNT Rum Bar | Washington, DC

When you are at the Tiki TNT Rum Bar you'll feel like you're on a tropical vacation... not in the middle of The Wharf in Washington, DC. I was completely transported on a Friday evening, sitting at their 3rd floor wrap-around bar, sipping on tiki cocktails and munching on Hawaiian-inspired apps.

First, I ordered a Pain Killer, a tiki classic made with Pusser’s navy rum + pineapple juice + coconut water + coconut milk + oj. I followed this up with a not-so-tiki drink called the TNT Problem Forgetter, probably because of the strength of this drink, made with Bourbon + Thrasher’s spiced rum + overproof rum + apricot liqueur + coconut cream rum + honey + lime. It'll definitely put some hair on your chest.

For food we wanted to try an array of items so we ordered:
>> Spam Musubi - Grilled spam, egg, sushi rice, nori
>> Tiki Tots - Tater tots, ‘tiki de gallo’, cilantro, pepper jack cheese, tnt sauce
>> Poke' - Ahi tuna, soy, sesame oil, nori, ginger, rice
>> Crab Rangoon Dip - Lump crab, cream cheese, pickled peppers, wonton chips, scallions

We were lucky enough to visit on a beautiful, warm evening. The windows were open and the breeze was just the perfect temp. I'll definitely be back next time I'm feeling those winter blues.
