EAT & DRINK AT The Wine Kitchen | Frederick, MD

@thewinekitchen

In order to beat the crowds that come with Valentine’s Day, my husband & I celebrated a day early, at the Wine Kitchen in downtown Frederick. This is one of our favorite spots to go for date night. Their “Dinner for the Table” formerly known as the “Dinner for Two” option is the meal we always order and definitely the perfect choice for Valentine’s Day or any date night.

One of the special apps they had available were the skillet cooked biscuits with a side of goat cheese butter. They were fluffy and buttery and the butter gave them an almost creamy sort of texture. I could eat a dozen of those easily on my own.

The “Dinner for the Table” serves 2 and allows you to choose 2 sides to share as well. There are a few entrée options to pick from but we always choose the Short Rib – a 16oz of Roseda Black Angus beef short rib braised for 24 hours. Like they say on the menu - a knife will be optional (def not needed). Our 2 sides are always mashed potatoes - creamy and delicious Yukon Gold potatoes & mac and cheese - fontina, cream cheese, smoked gouda, on cresto de gallo pasta. Who needs veggies when you’re treating yourself?! Not us.

For dessert we split the warm chocolate brownie, ala mode style of course which included a fudgy brownie cooked in a cast iron skillet, filled with dark chocolate chips & topped with our choice of coffee flavored ice cream.
