Surfhouse is a beach-themed bar/restaurant located in Urbana in Frederick, MD. This was the first restaurant we visited when moving to Urbana back in Feb 2019. The tropical décor, fresh flavors, friendly staff & wide variety of beer to choose from has made this one of my favorite spots within walking distance of our home.
My go-to food order is the Poke Bowl which includes fresh, sushi-grade Ahi Tuna, sliced avocado, pickled radishes, carrots, a tart mango salsa, seaweed salad, cucumber, and honey soy sauce all over warm rice. This meal makes you feel like you’re on a Hawaiian island, eating lunch by the pool. At my last visit to Surfhouse I also ordered a Hoop Tea w/peach moonshine, which made this the perfect all-around meal.
My husband’s regular order is the Rice Bowl w/ Mahi Mahi which includes a vegetable stir fry, served over warm rice w/ a seaweed salad garnish. You can choose any protein you like for this rice bowl from shrimp, pork carnitas, steak, chicken, or fish.
