We’ve been on the search for the best Indian in the Frederick area, and I believe we’ve found it here. This is the second location for the Royal Tandoor, with the original in Gaithersburg, MD.

We visited their new location on the day of their Grand Opening. Luckily, we arrived just as they opened for dinner and snagged the premiere table right at the front of the restaurant next to the big windows. Of course, I love the bright lighting for photo ops, but also for some great people watching. The beautiful décor, well-lit space, with picture-worthy drinks and delicious food made this the perfect date night spot. When we go to any Indian restaurant, we can usually judge the overall quality by the Chicken Tikki Masala, so that’s what we ordered.

>>Entrees:

2 orders of the Chicken Tikka Masala- Boneless chicken breast cooked with onions in a tomato, onion, and cashew sauce. Seasoned to perfection with their chef's house made spice blends. Served with long grain rice (thankfully, with several free refills of rice). Their spice level options range from Mild, Medium, Hot, to Indian Hot. I ordered Medium and my husband ordered the Hot spice level, both were exactly to our liking.
