Dive bars are probably some of my favorite places to hang out & drink. Ivy & Coney in the Shaw neighborhood of DC is on the top of my list when it comes to “Cheap Food, Cheap Beer, Even Cheaper Company.” The bar was amazingly packed for a Tuesday evening but we quickly found 2 seats at the bar, drank several $4 miller lites, took a few jelly donut shots, ate a large Detroit-style pepperoni pizza & shared some Mambo style chicken wings. The food was delicious, the beers were cold, the bartender was super friendly & welcoming and Seinfeld was on the TV so I felt right at home. If I lived in DC I’d probably be found here several times a week.
