Located in downtown Frederick, Thacher & Rye opened in Sept 2020 amid the Coronavirus pandemic, with the help of @bravotopchef celebrity chef @bryanvoltaggio. They completely rebranded Volt (the previous restaurant & tenant also created by Bryan Voltaggio), and refreshed the menu and style to become Thacher & Rye.
You are encouraged to pick an item from each part of their menu: First Course (appetizer), Second Course (a pasta dish), Entrée (larger portion), as well as Dessert. Their “For the Table” options include shareable plates like the Spent Grain Rye Bread which is most likely the tastiest bread my husband & I have ever eaten, paired with smoked Carolina trout and a side of whipped cultured butter.

We highly recommend the Ravioli with cherry glen farm goat cheese, delicata squash, a charred onion brodo, topped with pepitas and sage, as well as the juicy, black angus burger topped with cheddar, burger sauce, and bacon, accompanied by a side of their to-die-for fries. You will not be disappointed.
